Becoming a driving instructor in the USA
The procedures of becoming a driving instructor in the United States are a bit different than the rules in the UK. It all also depends on the state you are interested in and you will have to research on some differences in your area, but here is some general advice which can be applied to the whole country. First of all, you have to choose a school at which you want to be taught. Choose a school close to your town or city, but also get some advice from people who could recommend you a good school. Then you have to obtain a packet from Driver Instructional Services Division in your state. In other countries candidates can apply as soon as they"re 18 years old, but unfortunately the 21-years-old limit is applicable in the States. You also have to be an experienced driver. You have to hold a driving licence in the category you want to teach in the future. You must also have no criminal record. As soon as it is clear that you satisfy the requirements, you can start your course at the school you have chosen. You must pass the exams to get the certificate and you also have to speak English on the advanced level. There is a possbility to choose some additional options. There is a special kind of driving instructor who teaches high school students. You must have a college degree to choose this option. Otherwise the only requirement regarding education in a high school diploma.
